Last week, a Puffin and a Guillemot, were successfully released with Padstow Sealife Safaris after completing their rehabilitation journey with us Mousehole Wild Bird Hospital Cornwall .
Both birds, arrived at the hospital with exhaustion, both underweight and had no waterproofing. The bird care team have done a great job using a variety of techniques to help the birds regain their waterproofing and build up their body weight and condition. All of which has prepared them for life back out at sea in their natural habitat.
We are HUGELY grateful to Padstow Sealife Safaris who dedicated their morning, boat and lovely staff to us to enable this release.
The Puffin flew off confidently out to sea, whilst the Guillemot decided it was time to dive in and swim off towards a group of friendly Auks.
Once again, we would like to thanks our amazing volunteers, staff and supporters, you all played a part in making this happen!
