Enrichment is important to the development of our fledging patients. Providing them with toys that encourage foraging behaviour and curiosity is a key part of their rehabilitation journey. Your contribution to this fund means young seabirds can develop these skills so they are ready to face the big wild world when they are released into their natural habitat.
As you can imagine we get through a lot of fish! All our patients are given an exclusively fish-based diet – it’s expensive but ensures our seabird patients are given the food they need to rehabilitate well. When caring for pelagic species (those seabirds that live out at sea) a specialist fish diet is required.
