These gulls have already found out by standing on their shelter, that they have a room with a view.
To comply with DEFRA regulations the gulls’ aviaries all have full roof coverings and small hole mesh around all sides. This ensures that they are at minimal risk from Avian Influenza or any other diseases or infections transmissible from wild birds flying overhead.
As we haven’t been here for 12 months the wild gulls and pigeons in particular are very interested in what we are doing as well as the noise from our gulls (and they hope we might drop a bit of food that they can snaffle as well!).
