We are coming to the end of our stay at our temporary site in Gulval. We would like to say a big thank you to Growing Links who lent us the field which allowed us to reopen in time to care for this year’s young gulls. This has allowed us to care for 279 birds.
As many of you are aware, our site over on Raginnis Hill, Mousehole had to be closed for 12 months after an Avian Influenza (bird flu) outbreak. We have since followed all DEFRA-mandated requirements and now have access back to this site. We will be winding down at Gulval over this month, closing fully by the 31 October.
We are working hard to get Mousehole back up to standard after such a long time away and have some exciting refurbishment plans coming up. As such, we will not be able to take in casualties just yet. All patients currently in our care will continue to be looked after until ready for release.
Thank you to all our followers for the support over the last few months. We are very grateful for everything and look forward to getting back to our home site.
