The bird in this video had suffered injuries associated with entanglement, something we see all too often. Whether it’s fishing line, discarded litter or netting on buildings, these hazards can leave birds injured, exhausted and unable to fend for themselves.
For many birds, the rescue is only the beginning.
A concerned member of the public raised the alarm.
Someone took the time to coordinate the rescue and make sure help reached the bird.
A brave rescuer climbed a tall ladder to bring it safely back to the ground.
A local vet generously gave their time to examine the bird free of charge.
Our team then provided weeks of treatment, medication and rehabilitation.
And finally, the moment we’d all been hoping for… a return to the wild.
